The Coyote Gulch is a canyon hike located in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area south of the town of Escalante, Utah. It can be done on a very long day hike or as an overnight trip. Typical for most canyon hikes the trail is very easy ... at least once you are down in the canyon. After reaching the Coyote Gulch from the parking area on the canyon rim you have to scramble down which is quite adventurous especially with heavy backpacks. It seem as if a 30m rope is now in place to help you in the process. In the canyon you follow the river bed so take some suitable footwear such as Tevas. The major highlights of the hike are immense overhanging arches and the moderately interesting canyon towards Glen Canyon.
