It may surprise you but there are a couple of places left in Europe which
can still be called a true wilderness and the Sarek National Park in
northern Sweden qualifies here. The Sarek trek is part of Sweden's "Kungsleden" (Swedish for "King`s Trail") - a long distance walk that passes roughly 425km of this wilderness. The trek is highly configurable but a popular
approach (described here) is to start at Kvikkjokk and head northbound to the Kebnekaise Fjällstation which is about a 114km distance which takes something between 7 and 9 days. It is a harsh, mostly treeless, glacial landscape with wild rivers - finally we are already talking about an arctic place here. The beauty of simplicity is the thing that fascinates here.
There're several established huts on the Kungsleden. The standard varies from
rustic to luxurious. Some offer basic food supplies whereas the Fjällstation even feature full-blown restaurants where you can enjoy a beer or even wine. However, don't expect food to be available everywhere to take your normal supplies. It is worth to mention that you need a tent for the trek portion between Kvikkjokk and Ammarnäs (not described here). It may also be a good idea to carry an emergency tent in the high seasons when the huts may be full.
