With its pristine beaches and azure-blue waters the Freycinet Peninsula gives you an illusion ... an illusion of a tropical island and that's only till you jump into the sea. The Tasman Sea is darn cold so you better enjoy the views and the Freycinet Peninsula Circuit has lots of 'em.
It is a fairly easy 2-3 day walk covering two mountain ranges and the Freycinet isthmus. As you may expect it is primarily a coastal hike with an emphasis on beaches but you have to cross the "Harzards" as well as the inner portion of the Freycinet peninsula with a max. altitude of 620m - all with your heavy pack naturally. There're no huts on the track but naturally it is part of the fun to camp just next to the beach. Freycinet National Park is one of the primary destinations on Tasmania so the day-walker area including the Wineglass Bay is fairly crowded. However, once you're on Freycinet peninsula you should still be able to find some solitude.
Paradise is never without flaws - expect to see some poisonous snakes on the track. Snakes are usually harmless beings unless surprised or teased so don't be overly worried about this. The access to the area is very easy - if you've a rental car you can park it right at the start/end of the track. Alternatively there's also a bus service to/from Hobart.
